Bondsville Mill's War Memorial Garden - Now a "Never Forget Garden"
|
Last week, there was another proud moment for the War Memorial Garden! The gardens surrounding the Memorial will be dedicated as a Never Forget Garden to honor all of those who have served and sacrificed on behalf of America in times of war or armed conflict. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Never Forget Garden Marker has already been placed on the right wing of the Mill’s Memorial. Occasioned by the Centennial of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Garden Marker is intended to be a place to remember, to honor, and to teach. Girl Scouts Bridging Ceremony at the Mill ...
On Sunday, a Girl Scout bridging ceremony took place at the Mill. Troops from Pope John Paul II Regional Elementary School. Troop 478 bridged from Daisy's to Brownies and Troop 4961 Bridged from Seniors to Ambassadors. This was the first time the girls had been able to celebrate together since March 2020. The bridging ceremony was followed by a picnic at the park. Congratulations to all! Of course we had to show the girls how to tag a Monarch. They named the Monarch Stella and all wished her well as she began her flight to Mexico.
Girl Scout Troop 478's Leader is Jen Heniz. Girl Scout Troop 4961's Leaders are Cindy Kenetski and Katie Brasten.
What is “bridging” and who is it for? For girls who are already Girl Scouts, a “bridging” (or bridging ceremony) is a ceremony honoring and celebrating their graduation to the next Girl Scout level. Think Daisy to Brownie, Brownie to Junior, Junior to Cadette, Cadette to Senior, Senior to Ambassador, and even Ambassador to Adult!
